It’s Fairtrade Fortnight, a festival of climate awareness and fairtrade aimed to educate and inspire us all to choose the kind of world we want to live in.
Fairtrade was launched in 1992 with the aim of getting better prices, improving working conditions and terms of trade, and encouraging sustainability for farmers and workers in the developing world.
At Newlands we wholeheartedly support this cause buy only purchasing Fairtrade certified products. Today there are over 4,500 Fairtrade products available in the Uk, so it is not difficult to do your bit to help.
As part of Fairtrade Fortnight, there is an exclusive virtual bake-a-long organised by the Fairtrade Foundation and Waitrose run by award winning patisserie chef and chocolatier Will Torrent.
